Matias "Lechu" Siri — Sr. Solutions Architect & Cloud Specialist
[ 2018 — 2024 · 7 YEARS · BUENOS AIRES & MADRID ]
At heart, I'm a Sysadmin. Always have been, always will be. Nearly 30 years in IT — and it all started with a terminal, a root prompt, and a healthy obsession with making things work.
I grew up on Linux and Unix, back when you compiled your own kernel and prayed the machine would boot. From Novell NetWare and Windows NT in 1998, through Solaris zones, Red Hat clusters, and AWS cloud architecture, the thread has always been the same: understand the system, own the stack, keep it running.
Outside of work I tinker. Arduino, Raspberry Pi, IoT sensors, home automation, small electronics — if it runs Linux or speaks MQTT, I've probably wired it up to something it wasn't designed for. I'm a firm believer that the best way to understand technology is to break it in your own lab first.
Today I work as a Lead Cybersecurity Architect at Siemens, but the sysadmin mindset never left — it just scaled up.
First IT role. Managed Windows NT and Novell NetWare networks, then built early Linux infrastructure: proxy, mail, file, and backup servers.
Started in NOC operations managing Cisco LAN/WAN and satellite nodes. Moved into Linux and Solaris administration, Windows-to-Linux migrations, and Bash automation for satellite consoles.
Delivered enterprise Red Hat Linux deployments for large public sector customers including AFIP, Ministerio de Economía, and PAMI.
Enterprise Linux and Unix support for American Express. Storage management with Veritas Volume Manager, HA clusters with Veritas Cluster, Red Hat provisioning with Kickstart.
Solaris 10 administration with Zones (containers) and JumpStart automation. Storage with Sun Volume Manager and Veritas Volume Manager. HA with Sun Cluster.
Enterprise Unix/Linux administration for HP customers. Solaris and Red Hat platforms, storage management, and high-availability cluster operations.
Technical lead for IBM Cognos BI infrastructure across global teams. Provided Linux on IBM Z (zLinux) support for distributed BI services.
Led second-level support operations for enterprise LATAM customers. End-to-end responsibility for incident management, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Solaris and Red Hat administration in enterprise environments. HA clusters with Sun Cluster and Veritas Cluster. Member of incident response and patching teams.
Led cloud architecture and engineering for enterprise platforms on AWS. Guided teams on AWS best practices, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
Six and a half years across five roles: TAM → Partner SA → Well-Architected Specialist → Cybersecurity AoD Expert → Cloud Optimization Specialist. Covered LATAM and EMEA.
Enterprise Cybersecurity Architect leading architecture initiatives aligned with the NIST CSF Identify domain. Focused on risk visibility, threat intelligence, and exposure management at enterprise scale.

📍 Buenos Aires, Argentina
Enabled AWS partners across LATAM to design and deliver cloud solutions. Focused on Well-Architected best practices, security, and cloud transformation for partner ecosystems.
📍 Buenos Aires, Argentina
Specialized in the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Conducted workload reviews across the six pillars — Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Sustainability.
📍 Madrid, Spain & Buenos Aires, Argentina
Subject matter expert in Threat Detection & Incident Response. Advised customers and partners on AWS security services, threat modeling, and incident response architectures using GuardDuty, Security Hub, Detective, and more.
📍 Madrid, Spain
Led cloud optimization engagements across EMEA, helping customers reduce costs, improve efficiency, and align workloads with the AWS Well-Architected Framework at scale.
